In Edo State, Mwagale visited the Sen. Daisy Ehanire Danjuma Women Centre in Benin. This center, established by the Governor of Edo State under the inspiration of Professor Yinka Omoregbe, provides a haven for victims of trafficking and gender- based violence. The center offers a range of services including justice, shelter, medication, counseling, and tertiary training. The visit was enlightening, as Mwagale witnessed firsthand the comprehensive support provided to vulnerable individuals. Mwagale team had the privilege of meeting Professor Yinka Omoregbe, who is the founder of the Edo State Task Force against Human Trafficking. Her dedication and strategic leadership in combating trafficking were evident, and she delegated her associate, Purity, to guide the team through Mwagale’s activities in Edo State. Another significant meeting was with Mr. Nduka Nwanwene, the Zonal Commander for the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Benin Zonal office. Mr. Nduka provided the team with valuable insights into the statistics, history, and government efforts in the fight against trafficking. His expertise greatly enriched the team’s understanding and was a critical component of Mwagale’s documentary.
