Faith and Advocacy Unite: Mwagale Foundation, The Salvation Army, and Make a Child Smile Host ‘Light to Life’ Roundtable on the Role of Prayer in Ending Human Trafficking

Kampala, Uganda 22nd September 2025
Mwagale Foundation, in partnership with The Salvation
Army and Make a Child Smile, hosted the Light to Life Roundtable Talk Show on 22nd September 2025 an inspiring and deeply reflective session dedicated to examining the Role of Prayer in the Fight Against Human Trafficking. The event brought together faith leaders, activists, survivor advocates, and community partners for a meaningful discussion on how spiritual resilience strengthens efforts to combat exploitation.
The talk show highlighted the powerful role that prayer plays as a source of hope, healing, and strength for survivors and communities affected by human trafficking. Participants emphasised that prayer, combined with informed and coordinated action, can help restore dignity and build resilience among individuals overcoming trauma.
As a survivor-led organisation, Mwagale Foundation places immense value on amplifying the experiences and voices of survivors. Their testimonies serve as powerful tools for awareness, policy advocacy, and community transformation. The Foundation maintains a strong belief that with faith, unity, and persistent prayer, lasting change is both possible and achievable.
The Light to Life Roundtable aimed to:
- Empower voices by creating a safe space for survivor-led dialogue
- Spark meaningful discussion on the intersection of faith and anti-trafficking work
- Amplify impact by fostering collaboration across faith communities and civil society
The session reaffirmed that combating human trafficking requires comprehensive approaches that integrate spiritual support, survivor empowerment, and community-driven advocacy. When these elements come together, they illuminate pathways of hope and healing for survivors.
Mwagale Foundation calls upon governments, religious institutions, NGOs, and individuals across the globe to join in this shared mission. Through prayer, partnership, and purposeful action, we can protect the vulnerable and build a future free from exploitation.
