Mwagale Foundation Showcases Survivor Innovation at the India–Uganda Bilateral Symposium

Mwagale Foundation is proud to highlight the contribution of Katushabe Hope, Shibella Joshirah, and one of our courageous survivor leaders at the recently concluded India-Uganda Bilateral Symposium convened by the Red Rope Movement and The Salvation Army. The event brought together key anti-trafficking stakeholders to strengthen collaboration and amplify survivor-centered approaches in both countries.

During the symposium, our team showcased a compelling range of products and services developed by survivors of human trafficking. These products represent more than creativity and skill-they reflect resilience, restored dignity, and the transformative power of safe economic opportunities.

As a survivor-led organization, Mwagale Foundation places survivors at the heart of our work. Our programs focus on trauma-informed healing, comprehensive skills development, and employment pathways designed to promote long-term independence. By equipping survivors with market-relevant skills, we help reduce vulnerability, foster confidence, and support sustainable reintegration into their communities.

Our participation in the symposium reaffirmed our commitment to advancing holistic survivor empowerment. Seeing survivors confidently present their work on an international platform is a powerful reminder of what is possible when individuals are given the opportunity, support, and environment to rebuild their lives.

Mwagale Foundation remains dedicated to strengthening partnerships, expanding survivor-led initiatives, and promoting collaborative action in the fight against human trafficking.

We welcome stakeholders, partners, and supporters to join us in this mission. Together, we can continue creating pathways to healing, economic empowerment, and lasting hope for survivors across Uganda and beyond.
