From 26th to 28th September 2025 in Mbale City, Mwagale Foundation, in partnership with the Salvation Army Uganda Territory Anti–Human Trafficking Project and key local stakeholders, strengthened its call for collective action against human trafficking during a 3-day awareness campaign.
Under the powerful theme 'Humanity Is Not for Sale,' the campaign brought together staff, survivor advocates, and community partners to raise public awareness on the urgent need to end human exploitation in all its forms.
Participants held impactful placards displaying messages such as 'Humanity Is Not for Sale', 'Exploitation Steals Futures', and 'Survivors Are Warriors of Resilience' to advocate for survivor-centred interventions.
Human trafficking remains a widespread challenge across Eastern Uganda, often preying on individuals lured by false promises of urban employment or school fees. Sensitisation was conducted across local schools, churches, and community centers.
Campaign activities focused on four key pillars: Sensitizing schools and faith groups to spot risks, supporting survivor reintegration with psychosocial care, advocating cross-border collaboration to disrupt trafficking routes, and promoting survivor storytelling for prevention.
This initiative is more than an awareness effort—it is part of a growing movement built on courage, hope, and resilience. Together, communities can be empowered to protect those at risk and ensure humanity is never for sale.
