Global Migrant Workers Forum 2024 - Naivasha, Kenya The Global Migrant Workers Forum 2024 was held from July 17 to July 19 at the Enashipai Resort in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Kenya. The conference brought together stakeholders to discuss issues related to migrant workers and explore ways to improve their living and working conditions. The forum coincided with the 2024 Cities Alliance Assembly, which marked the organization's 25th anniversary. The assembly provided an opportunity to reflect on past achievements and confront current challenges facing cities, including climate change, migration dynamics, and working in unstable contexts. During the forum, the FAIRWAY Programme Kenya and KUDHEIHA promoted migrant workers' education. The International Labour Organization (ILO) and other partners emphasized the importance of providing access to information for both migrants and those designing interventions. Kenya also launched its National Migration Coordination Mechanism (NCM), a government-led inter-agency platform responsible for national migration management. The NCM aims to facilitate interagency coordination, collaboration, and information-sharing on migration issues at the national level. The Global Migrant Workers Forum 2024 was a significant event that brought together various stakeholders to address the challenges faced by migrant workers and explore solutions to improve their well-being.
